IPL-2025: Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings in the mega final

Ahmedabad: Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings will face off in the mega final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Virat Kohli’s jersey number is 18. The star batsman has been waiting to hold the trophy in his hands for almost two decades. Virat is going to play the fourth IPL final of his career. Thousands of spectators will be seen wearing jersey number 18 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. So, RCB is hoping to make the IPL memorable from various perspectives by winning the title in the 18th edition. RCB had previously played the final in 2009, 2011 and 2016 but were satisfied with the runner-up finish. On the other hand, Punjab finished runner-up in 2014. Kohli will not be seen on the field for much longer as he has retired from international T20 and Test cricket. So, it is natural for the audience to be excited to watch him play. RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier-1. So, Kohli’s fans will be expecting another great performance from the team. Like every year, Kohli has scored a lot of runs this year too. So far, he has shown that he is in form by scoring 614 runs. Apart from this superstar, the team’s batting lineup is very strong with Phil Salt, Maynk Agarwal, captain Rajat Patidar and Jhilesh Sharma. If Tim David, who has not played in the last 2 matches due to injury problems, is fit, then he and Romario Shepherd can give the team a lot of advantages in the death overs. Like Kohli in batting, Josh Hazlewood has created possibilities for RCB by taking 21 wickets in bowling. RCB will expect another great performance from this Australian player. On the other hand, after losing in Qualifier-1, Punjab, led by Shreyas Iyer, showed their ability by losing to five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Qualifier-2. Punjab has entered the final after a long 11 years. The combination of captain Iyer and coach Ricky Ponting has been very good. Iyer led Kolkata Knight Riders to the championship last year. He has also been in excellent form and has scored 603 runs. In the 18-year history of IPL, he is the only captain to have taken three different teams to the final. The third team is Delhi Capitals. Iyer, who joined the Punjab team a few months ago, is hungry to win the trophy for his new franchise. The team’s bowling department has looked a bit weak in the absence of Marcus Janssen, but the team’s morale is high after the defeat to Mumbai. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, despite still having a hand injury, will be aiming for an impressive performance against his former franchise RCB.
